This 2025/2026 course, we have carried out different activities within this course. What we are going to list as a summary:
On October 9, 2025 was the opening ceremony of the 2025/2026 course, attended as officials by Mr. José María Ramírez Morán, Mayor of the Almendralejo City Council. Isabel Ballesteros Guerrero, Councillor for Education. Esther Muñoz Baquero,Directorate-General of the University of the Junta de Extremadura and D. José María Corrales Vázquez, Director of the University of Seniors Program of Extremadura (UEX)
On October 24, 2025, we were at the presentation of the student’s book written by D. Juan Luis Ortiz
On October 31, 2025 we went to the III Silver Economy Congress in Cáceres
On November 14, 2025 we had the annual assembly of the Association of Alumni and Alumni of the University of Seniors of Extremadura with headquarters in Almendralejo
On November 21, 2025, we attended the Graduation Ceremony of Students together with our classmates who were graduating in Badajoz. of the University of Majors of Extremadura.
On November 25, 2025, we visited the city of Trujillo, spending a great day of coexistence with fellow attendees,where we could taste typical products.
On December 5, 2025, we were at the recording of a radio program from SER Channel.
On December 17, 2025, we had the traditional Christmas meal as a farewell before the Christmas holidays.We celebrated at the Restaurant La Gran Familia in Almendralejo, having a fraternal day with good food.
On January 22, 2026, a meeting of the Presidents of the different associations of the different headquarters was held in Almendralejo existing in UMEX.
On February 11, 2026, we pioneered the Day of the Student throughout Extremadura, being a total success,in which nothing was missing. Starting with a good Extremeño breakfast, followed by dance courses, at noon we had a good meal wherealso held a contest of desserts made by our students, it was a day of fraternization and it was an unforgettable day, where the Board did it as proof and absolutely sure will remain as another annual event.
On February 16, 2026 we attended a Cancer Conference.
On February 25, 2026 we visited the town of Jerez de los Caballeros, where we visited the castle and all the monuments architects of the city. Great day of camaraderie and good harmony.
On March 6, 2026 we celebrated the III meeting of associations in the town of Mérida, where we were taught different monuments of the city, with lunch at the hotel Velada de Mérida.
On March 25, 2026, members of our Association were accompanying visitors from Ceprano (Italy) as twinning of Almendralejo and thus returning the visit that previous months had made from the Consistory with different members of associations from Almendralejo to Italy. As members of our Association, they are responsible for showing you our city, as well as accompany them at all times during their stay in the locality.
On March 26, 2026 we visited the entrails of the Serena Dam, a very cultural and endearing visit.And knowing firsthand the operation of this reservoir. Subsequently, we moved to the reversible hydraulic tunnel between the Orellana reservoirs and the Zújar, visiting the interior of the Zújar sluice chamber. Finishing the visit after a big meal, visiting the García-Sola reservoir.
From 13 to 17 April 2026 some colleagues made a trip to Ireland within the Project Europe Senior.
From April 22 to 28, 2026, we had a painting and photography exhibition held by students entirely in the room exhibitions of Caja Almendralejo, in Calle de la Hierba number 11.Being very visited by classmates from the university as well as by neighbors from Almendralejo. Likewise, we had the visit of our Mr. Mayor along with Mrs. Councilor for Education, also published in the full page Crónica de Almendralejo.
On April 29, 2026 we visited the Geopark of Villuercas-Ibores-Jara, visiting the village of Cabañas del Castillo where we accompanied as a guide and showed us the castle (to the brave ones who climbed) giving us a master class from the entire area, our teacher D. Manuel Pulido. We ended the trip in Guadalupe with an excellent meal and visiting the Monesterio as finishing touch.
On May 6, 2026 we visited the neighboring town of Aceuchal, having a phenomenal day of coexistence and visiting companies locals and the City Hall. We had a wonderful day. Also, on Radio Aceuchal’s Facebook page, they wrote the following:
ACEUCHAL RECEIVES THE UNIVERSITY OF ELDERS
The students of the headquarters of the University of Seniors of Almendralejo, lived yesterday an intense day of coexistence and learning in our municipality.
The morning began with a visit to the cooperative Nuestra Señora de la Soledad on its 50th anniversary. Subsequently, the expedition formed by more than 80 people from places such as Nogales, Almendralejo, Villafranca de los Barros, Santa Marta, Villalba o Aceuchal moved to the Extremadura Ajos de Aceuchal Cooperative.
At the City Hall, they were officially received by the mayor and the first lieutenant of the mayor. During this meeting, the municipal representatives toured with them the facilities of the council and thanked them for their visit by giving them a gift in memory of his passage through our municipality.
Later, the historian Álvaro Guerrero was in charge of guiding the group at the hermitage of San Andrés, among other things las architectural features of this temple to later visit in the library the collection of Isidoro’s models Noriego, a display that stands out for its meticulousness and craftsmanship.
After replenishing strength with a sisterhood lunch, the day ended with a visit to the courtyard of thought.
On May 13, our colleague María Teresa Martínez Morales received an Accessium in the category of Stories in the Certamen de Poetry, Stories and Microrrelatos organized by ASAUMEX in Mérida. Our sincerest congratulations!
Even if it seems incredible, we have already reached the end of the course, with many activities and new and interesting Apprenticeships. First of all, thank the teachers who have done well and are always willing to help who have participated in this course, for their teachings, understanding and sometimes patience with us, THANK YOU! As is customary since our association, we have already organized the end-of-term fraternity meal, in which there will be many surprises and prizes. We look forward to seeing you!
On May 13th, we gave the last classes of this year, thus firing this school year and looking forward to starting the next. Not without first continuing with activities within the Association, such as attending last May 20 at the invitation we received sent from the Civil Guard Barracks, to visit their photographic exhibition of the Centennial of the Civil Guard Barracks House Almendralejo.
Also some members of our Association are doing an exchange with the University of Seniors of the province of Malaga from 18 to 23 May this year.

FOR OLD AND NEW STUDENTS: The enrollment deadline for the 2026/2027 year of the Senior Program of the University of Extremadura, will open on June 8 and end on June 19 of this year from 10:00 to 13:00.
On the 8th, we will provide all the information about how and where the registration fees for the next course must be submitted.
